Our approach to commissioned work
Even though I put a lot of passion in to my collections and have received very happy feedback about that element of my work, I enjoy the commissioned work part the most. One of the things I love about mosaics is the fact that as an artform it is ideally suited to creating work that is unique to someone's style and taste.
My approach to buidling a unique piece of art for you starts with a lot of listening. I want to understand what you have in mind in terms of size, color, emotion, shape etc. I want to understand what you like and dislike. Then I will work with you to define the result which includes several follow up discussions to go over ideas, scetches, colors etc. The great thing about mosaics is that almost anything is possible: an indoor mirror frame (see below), a table, a garden fountain, a bathroom, a bowl, a house number or letter box.... If you would like to discuss an idea for a mosaic project with me, please contact me (
gwenda@seattlemosaics.com), it's free :) I'll be happy to have a conversation with you about your project after which i can provide you with a quote for the work.
Customer Testimonial
"Soul The Salon" owner Alexandria Slider:
"The installation of art into a salon space is a tough decision. Since opening Soul The Salon was the fulfilment of a dream to me I was even more concerned with having every element reflective of my dream business and style. Gwenda Decneut suggested that I explore the world of mosaics as an option for art. It was explained to me that mosaics are an excellent choice for evoking feeling by way of artistic expression. After looking into it, I decided that I would likely enjoy collaborating with this woman to create the first art piece for Soul the Salon.
Gwenda was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is meticulous and passionate. It was conveyed to me that Gwenda is very serious and has a tremendous amount respect for this legendary Kraft. She kept me involved with every step of the process, and I am beyond pleased with the end result. The mosaic piece that Gwenda created for Soul The Salon is absolutely fabulous and is the most highly complemented work of art in my space."
