I was born in The Netherlands to Aruban parents which gives me my Caribbean roots. Through the years these have mixed with various cultures but have always remained strong.  I have lived in the Netherlands, Aruba, Singapore and Curacao before moving to the Pacific Northwest in August 2006. After a 12 year career in the corporate world I decided to follow my passion and started pursuing the art of mosaics in 2005. So far I have made various collections of mosaic art as well as custom pieces and commissioned work in addition to leading workshops for beginning mosaic enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest.

The first time I came in touch with mosaics was when my then 6 year old daughter and I celebrated mother’s day with a mother-daughter mosaic workshop in Amsterdam. At the time it was nothing more than a fun way of doing something off beat together next to the usual hussle and bustle of a career mom.

The seed was planted and when several years later life took a strange turn - as I became pregnant again and was health wise forced to take a break from the office career - which turned out to be all the opportunity that little mosaic seed needed to grow.

I attended several workshops at S-tiles in Amsterdam and started making my own first mosaics, to raving reviews of those near to me. Whether they meant it or not, it made me invest in learning about materials, techniques, trends and to become a genuine mosaic enthusiast (to the point that I had to visit Pompeii in Italy on my honeymoon).

In August of 2006 our family moved to the Seattle area and I've been fortunate to make the art I like and to be able to make to make the commission mirror frame for Soul The Salon in Belltown followed by exhibitions in the spring and summer of 2009.
